After weeks of gearing up and working through the sketchbook I started this new series I'm calling "Compositions". I'm not 100% firm on the directions it's going to head, but it's goal is to free up my markmaking, loosening color choices, and creating work tending more toward the abstract.
This is the first piece of the series. Like any/many first pieces, there are rough edges. I personally have a hard time revisiting a piece once I've reached a certain point. In a way every painting becomes an exercise, this piece joins many as a moment in time and mood.
